circa. 1950s aqua Parisian scenic border print satin-feel fabric, 68" x 45"

Vintage Parisian scenic print fabric with a smooth, lightweight satin-like feel and a fabulous pale aqua blue ground. Believed to date from the 1950s, the design features colourful illustrated scenes of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, leafy boulevards, elegant buildings, fountains, horse-drawn carriages and tiny figures strolling through the city. The main Parisian scene forms a decorative border print, becoming much more densely detailed towards one edge, while smaller individual motifs are scattered across the remaining aqua ground. A really unusual piece for dressmaking, cushions, accessories, lampshades, textile art or other vintage sewing projects, particularly where the scenic border can become a feature of the finished piece.
