Pair of 1950s David Whitehead 'Midsummer' curtains, 46" x 84"

Original pair of 1950s David Whitehead ‘Midsummer’ curtains, featuring a striking large-scale abstract botanical print in red, rust, brown, cream and black against a warm mustard-gold ground.  The original David Whitehead printed selvedge is still present, confirming the fabric's manufacture and adding a lovely piece of provenance for collectors of vintage textiles. The curtains are unlined and finished with vintage gathered curtain heading tape to the reverse. A wonderful example of post-war British textile design, with bold painterly forms and expressive black linework giving the fabric its unmistakable mid-century modern look. Perfect for 1950s, mid-century modern or eclectic interior.
