circa. 1940s rare "Maravilla" silver-tone engraved compact (empty)

A circa 1940s “Maravilla” silver-tone powder compact featuring intricate all-over engraved floral and geometric decoration in an ornate Middle Eastern / Moorish-inspired style. This large round compact has a richly detailed etched lid with central floral medallion and repeating foliate motifs, while the reverse features a subtle engine-turned linear pattern. A relatively scarce “Maravilla” example, especially in this larger engraved design.

The compact opens and closes correctly and still retains its original powder pad compartment, though the compact is now empty and the internal mirror is missing. Signs of age-related wear, tarnishing, surface marks and internal residue consistent with age and use.
