1980 hand-stitched Durham castle & cathedral framed needlepoint picture

Vintage hand-stitched picture depicting Durham Castle and Cathedral overlooking the River Wear. Worked in shades of blue, green, pink and terracotta, the scene includes the castle and cathedral buildings, surrounding trees and houses, with the arched bridge crossing the river in the foreground. Signed/initialled and dated 1980 in the lower right corner, and presented behind glass in its original-style decorative gilt frame.  A lovely piece of vintage folk and textile art with particular appeal as a Durham or North East England souvenir.
