1960s Brooke Bond picture cards: Wildlife in Danger, by Peter Scott (incomplete)

A poignant window into 1960s conservation awareness, this incomplete Brooke Bond Wildlife in Danger card series features 50 colour illustrations documenting species on the brink of extinction. Curated by Peter Scott, a founding figure of the World Wildlife Fund (established 1961), these cards tell a sobering story: from the dodo and great auk to the bluebuck and passenger pigeon, humans have driven countless species to oblivion. The accompanying text warns that over 1,000 vertebrate species now face the same peril.
