1950s red, black & mustard atomic floral barkcloth fabric, 21.5" x 23"

Vintage 1950s barkcloth furnishing fabric featuring a fabulous atomic-style floral design on a vibrant red ground. The large-scale print combines stylised black and mustard yellow flower heads with elongated white centres, connected by fine intersecting white stems. The red ground has a deliberately streaked, painterly appearance which adds another layer of texture to the bold graphic design. A fantastic example of 1950s modernist textile design, ideal for a statement cushion panel, bag, lampshade or other smaller textile project, or even framed as a piece of textile art.
