1930s/40s Black Americana opainted metal figural brooch

Vintage 1930s/40s painted metal figural brooch depicting a stylised Black figure in traditional dress, with a tall patterned headdress, hoop earrings and bold red, cream and gold painted detailing. An unusual example of period Black Americana novelty jewellery, reflecting the racial caricature imagery used in decorative and costume pieces of the era. Finished with a long pin and simple C-clasp fitting to the reverse.
